On September 23, 2026, Caregiver Grief Connexion hosted a Community of Practice session called "A Caregiver’s Journey Through Grief and Giving Back".
Communities of Practice are groups specially designed to bring together professionals and care providers interested in supporting caregivers in the health and social service sectors to engage in knowledge transfer, peer support learning, and skills development.
This session presented an open conversation with Wilma Brown, educator and palliative care volunteer, and social worker Zelda Freitas of Caregiver Grief Connexion. Wilma shared her personal journey caring for a spouse at home, the realities of pre-death grief, the shift
into life after loss, and how her experience led her to volunteer in palliative care.
This event was presented by Caregiver Grief Connexion, which is funded by the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence, a program of the Azrieli Foundation.
