Experience the wild like never before at Topslip Kozhikamuthi Elephant Camp 🐘🌿 Located deep inside the forest, this elephant camp is the second major camp of the Tamil Nadu Forest Department within the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, after the famous Theppakkadu camp in Mudumalai. Surrounded by lush greenery, this place offers a truly raw and authentic jungle experience. The camp is home to around 27 elephants, ranging in age from 8 to 67 years. Watching these majestic animals up close in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience. The best time to visit is during the morning or evening feeding sessions. I visited during the early morning ride at 7:30 AM, where you can witness: ✔️ Elephant feeding session 🐘 ✔️ Close interaction & photo opportunities 📸 ✔️ Natural behavior of elephants in the wild 🌿 After feeding, most of the elephants move out into the forest for grazing, leaving only a few (around 3–5) at the camp. This makes the feeding time the perfect moment to see them all together. This camp is also home to famous Kumki elephants like Chinna Thambi and Kaleem, known for their strength and role in forest operations.
