Cultural, Educational & Exposure Tour 2026

Cultural, Educational and Exposure Tour to Gurez Government Degree College Drass organised a four-day Socio-Cultural and Educational Exposure Tour to Gurez Valley from August 27–30, 2026. The tour included visits to Gurez, Tulail, Habba Khatoon Peak and Spring, Bagtore Meadows, Shina Cultural Centre, KVK Gurez, Razdan Top and Wular Vintage Park, providing students with exposure to the region’s ecology, biodiversity, agriculture, cultural heritage and traditional way of life. A key highlight was the Cultural Exchange Programme at GDC Gurez, celebrating the shared Shina heritage of Drass and Gurez. Students of GDC Drass presented a Shina dance, while students of GDC Gurez presented cultural performances in the Shina language. The two colleges also signed an MoU to strengthen academic, cultural and institutional collaboration. The tour reflected GDC Drass’s commitment to experiential and interdisciplinary learning, enabling students to learn beyond the classroom and engage with diverse cultures, communities and landscapes.
