In this video, Security Analyst Fida Adeel discusses the historic four-nation meeting held in Tehran on 26 October 2026 and its implications for regional stability.
According to the joint statement, the first quadrilateral meeting of Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye was held in Tehran, hosted by the Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei. The meeting was attended by Pakistan's Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Saudi Arabia's Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Turkiye's Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, and Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The agenda focused on the overall regional situation, regional peace and security, and exploring possibilities for increasing cooperation among the four countries. The four nations agreed to continue dialogue and contacts to promote peace, stability and protection of common interests.
During the visit, the high-level delegation also held meetings with Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian and other Iranian leadership at Saadabad, Tehran. President Pezeshkian emphasized focusing on common interests rather than differences, stating that Iran is ready to end differences and increase cooperation. He proposed that Islamic countries work together for common interests and regional peace, noting that regional issues can be managed more effectively by focusing on shared points.
According to reports, the proposal to hold the four-nation meeting in Tehran was presented by Field Marshal Asim Munir. Saudi Arabia stated that the purpose of the meeting was to 'prevent escalation of tensions and pave the way for reaching an understanding.'
After the summit, Major General Mohsen Rezaei briefed on key points discussed: regional security should be shaped by regional countries themselves without external interference, Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, West Bank, South Lebanon and South Syria, and that if the four countries sit at one table, many regional issues can be resolved. He stated that despite threats, the arrival of three important countries to Iran is in itself a very important development and that this summit can become the basis for real and practical cooperation.
In the video, Fida Adeel also analyzes the reaction in Pakistan, where despite the meeting being the top headline and leading topic on all TV channels and talk shows on 26 October 2026, there was notable silence from official government personalities on X (formerly Twitter), including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and others, with no official statement or repost of historic footage from Iranian official accounts.
