Blencathra, Atkinson Pike, Glenderamackin river, Mousthwaite combe - Lake district mountain biking

A classic ride, taking several superb descents. Start at Threlkeld, up Scales fell (bit of a slog, but the views on the way up make up for it) to the top of Blencathra. Across to Atkinson Pike and then down to the start of the singletrack following a rather dry Glenderamackin river. Over the bridge up the short climb to the fab Mousthwaite combe descent. Make your way back to Threlkeld either by road or there is a higher path parallel to the road which has some really good bits, but also a ridiculous cliff you have to clamber up.. be warned... BTW.. 'every' walker I met was really chatty and had no issues.
