POLAND IN AUTUMN IS UNREAL! | Pieniny National Park, Southern Poland & Our Slow Road Trip Finale 🍂** Is southern Poland one of Europe's most underrated autumn destinations? After spending an unforgettable week exploring the Polish mountains, we're ending our slow road trip through southern Poland with some of the most beautiful autumn landscapes we've ever seen. Welcome back to The Writing Traveler! I'm a Dutch woman who fell in love with Poland, and together with my friend Selin, I'm exploring the country slowly — avoiding motorways, discovering smaller towns, enjoying local food and noticing the beauty of everyday life. In this final episode of our autumn Poland road trip, we're discovering the breathtaking Pieniny Mountains, walking through Pieniny National Park, enjoying views of the Dunajec River and Trzy Korony, and driving through the colorful countryside back to Kraków. 🍂 *WHAT YOU'LL SEE IN THIS SOUTHERN POLAND TRAVEL VLOG:* 🏡 *A slow morning in Grywałd:* We begin our day in our cozy wooden mountain cabin in the Polish countryside, enjoying a peaceful morning surrounded by nature. ⛰️ *Pieniny National Park in autumn:* We return to the beautiful area near Trzy Korony and the Polish–Slovak border. We walk along the Dunajec River and discover quiet hiking trails surrounded by spectacular autumn colors. Even on a Friday, this part of the national park feels wonderfully peaceful. 🇸🇰 *Slovakian garlic soup:* We enjoy a delicious bowl of traditional Slovak garlic soup on a sunny terrace, close to the border between Poland and Slovakia. ❄️ *Snow on the Tatra Mountains:* As the afternoon comes to an end, we spot fresh snow on the distant Tatra peaks. Golden autumn forests and snowy mountain summits in one view! 🏰 *Czorsztyn Castle and Lake Czorsztyńskie:* On our final morning, we visit the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle (Zamek Czorsztyn), overlooking Lake Czorsztyńskie, Niedzica Castle, the dam and the surrounding Pieniny Mountains. While many travelers visit Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains, the Pieniny region offers another beautiful perspective on Poland, with dramatic limestone peaks, the Dunajec River, historic castles, scenic roads and colorful forests. If you're planning a trip to Poland in September, October or November, consider exploring the Pieniny Mountains, Czorsztyn, Niedzica, Szczawnica and the smaller villages of Lesser Poland (Małopolska).
