Keep One Door Open | Alex Vo | Official Lyric Video

Official Lyric Video "Keep One Door Open" is a warm, modern human folk-pop story inspired by the lives and humanitarian work of Abdul Sattar Edhi and Bilquis Edhi — and by the idea that the size of a problem should not stop us from beginning with what we have. The song begins with Abdul Sattar Edhi caring for his seriously ill mother, an experience that helped shape the compassion that would guide his life. Years later, with limited resources and more need around him than one person could ever meet, he began with a small dispensary and kept going. Bilquis Edhi became his partner in life and in the work. Together, they helped create places of care for people who might otherwise have nowhere to turn. One of the most powerful images from their story is the simple cradle placed outside Edhi centres, offering a safe place for an unwanted baby to be left and cared for rather than abandoned in danger. The journey was never simple. There were always more people needing help than there were hands, resources or time available. But instead of waiting until they could solve everything, they continued working with what they had, one day and one person at a time. At its heart, "Keep One Door Open" is not only a song about two remarkable people. It is about choosing to begin even when the need is greater than anything we can carry alone. We may never be able to open every door, answer every call or fix every problem — but that does not mean we should close the one door we are able to keep open. Sometimes we do not need to see the ending to know that beginning matters. Keep one door open. This song is part of my second album, "What Finds Us". The complete album is available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms. Inspired by the lives of Abdul Sattar Edhi and Bilquis Edhi. Written by Alex Vo.
