In 1976, Reggie Jackson played a full season for the Baltimore Orioles — and no baseball card company put it on a card. Topps' set was already at the printer by the time the trade happened, and the Traded set built specifically to catch players like him skipped him too. It got stranger from there. A 1977 photo proof that showed him correctly, in the Orioles uniform he actually wore, was ordered destroyed before it ever reached packs. For over a decade, the only trace of his Baltimore season in mainstream cardboard was a single face buried in a team photo card — while he went on to become one of the most famous players of his generation somewhere else entirely. It took a brand-new company, one that didn't even exist in 1976, to finally print what had actually happened. This one's for anyone who likes the stories hiding in old checklists as much as the cards themselves. If you remember 1988 Score, let me know in the comments.
