Today I'm reacting to "Trumps USA – Rassismus und Waffengewalt", a German-language video examining the United States through the issues of racism and gun violence during the Trump era. As an American living abroad, one of the most interesting—and sometimes uncomfortable—parts of watching international documentaries is seeing my own country presented from an outside perspective. There are things Americans may view completely differently from Europeans, and I'm interested to see what this video gets right, what I disagree with, and what makes me reconsider my own assumptions.
