The Great North Walk (12k Hike), Macquarie Park to Thornleigh (Solo), Lane Cove NP

This hike is from a section of the Great North Walk. I have covered almost all of the Great North Walk hikes south of Brooklyn, and this is one of the easier ones. While there are no spectacular summit views, this is all about the flora and fauna. I encountered a huge tree goanna, many sulphur crested cockatoos, kookaburras and many eucalypts and ferns. In spring the area is blossoming and the birds in abundance, more enjoyable during the week when there are less people.
