Canberra Konkan Community Monthi Fest 2026 celebrations!

The Canberra Konkan Community (CKC) recently came together to celebrate Monthi Fest, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary bringing Konkani traditions and vibrant faith to life in Canberra. Starting with a heartwarming nine-day Novena hosted across local homes with prayers, floral offerings, and comforting home-cooked meals on cold winter nights, the celebration highlighted the incredible devotion of the younger generation, whose enthusiasm inspired families to keep these sacred traditions thriving. The festivities culminated in a joyful gathering at St John the Apostle Church in Holt on 12 September 2026, marking a beautiful milestone of community, faith, and heritage far from home.
