🍥 vlog for october ! sorry for the lOOOOooOoOOoong description .. editing this vlog made me realize just how self-conscious i am. i initially started vlogging to be able to convey my thoughts much properly, as i do tend to stutter when speaking with people, and to become more used to seeing myself on camera. i believe it has made a big difference from how i was before. but i do think that i have become so overly self-conscious that it has turned into a habit🥹 looking back, i tend to make facial expressions that icks me out. i'd say tho, my speaking has improved lots, but i've noticed how i say "gonna" quite often, which i hope will disappear completely in the near future😭😭😭 i just tend to overthink what i am going to say, which always leads me to use filler words. [i wanted to add this in the video itself, but i don't know why i suddenly have a texan accent] okay now, let's talk about the trip !! honestly, this trip was rushed. i'd been thinking about going for the concert, but i didn't pitch it to my mom until three months before, and i applied for my visa not even 2 weeks before the flight (2 weeks??) well, yes. it's that not thought out😭 and it didn't help that i was really hesitant to go back. this isn't my first time in korea, and the first time was NOT a good experience. i went with my family then, and the racism was bad. i even experienced physical racism, and as a 12 year old, i did not know what to do. both me and my family were just so confused and so stuck on what happened. my family never really wanted to go back because of what happened to me. so this trip took a lot of guts. when the plane landed, i was shaking. i was almost crying, because i was so scared, which is why i don't have much video of getting off the plane or buying a bus ticket, because i was too busy stressing out about what i would experience, especially since i was alone this time. but shockingly? this trip was really nice. everybody was SO kind. like on my first day, i had people help me when i was lost, and people help me carry my luggages when i was having a hard time. i can't say for sure that the racism is 100% gone, because i did experience it once during the trip still, but i think you know ??? i'll feel it in the moment, but the rest of the trip is mine, so i forgot about it immediately. and i did witness some stuff too, so it's not 100% gone, but it got a lot better. this trip was a lesson for me. 🗣️: the train is better than the bus. going solo from time to time is good for you. it was my first time traveling alone, first time navigating an airport by myself, first time getting lost without anyone to fall back on. it was scary, but you really don't know what you're capable of until you're forced to do it alone. i say everybody should do this at least once, actually. this trip isn't the kind of trip you'd expect, because i didn't really go to a lot of famous spots. well, i was supposed to. BUT me getting lost on the first day took like 50% of my energy, then the concert took 25%😪 still kinda sad that i didn't get to follow my original itinerary🥹 but it was fun nonetheless !! so this one's just a really calm trip. price wise, south korea is cheaper than japan, but taiwan is cheaper than both. and if you're going to korea for kpop merch, go. but if you want to look for old albums, japan would be a better place for that.
