Biblical faith isn’t blind faith or confidence that everything will work out exactly how we want. It is confident trust in God based on who He is, what He has said, and what He has already done. This message invites students who feel discouraged or distant from God to draw near to Him again. Faith is formed as we know God, strengthened as we obey Him, and proven as we continue trusting Him through difficulty. The more we know God’s character, His Word, and His promises, the more reason we have to trust Him. Before Hebrews 11 introduces us to men and women who lived “by faith,” Hebrews gives us the foundation for that faith: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” We can live by faith because the God we put our faith in is faithful.
