Mouse in the House: Deer Mouse and Sin Nombre Virus Dynamics in Montana

Sin Nombre virus is a strain of Hantavirus that causes the sometimes fatal human illness Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. The reservoir host of SNV is the deer mouse. Deer mice are found in a wide variety of habitats including peridomestic (in and around buildings) settings. Amy will provide an overview of hantaviruses and discuss the research she has been conducting on the SNV/deer mice system since 1995 (in Arizona) and 1999 (in Montana).
