This band just made HBCU history twice in one week — then went out and played the legendary Marching 100 in the same 5th quarter. 🥁🔥 Albany State's Marching Rams Show Band just named Edreka "Capriccio" Coleman as the FIRST-EVER female head drum major in the program's entire history. Days later, the band was announced as the first HBCU marching band EVER selected to perform in America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit — the parade's 100th anniversary, this November. That's the same band that grew from 26 members to 160 in just three years under director Dr. William Brooks. And then they walked into a 5th quarter against FAMU's Marching 100 — preseason #6 nationally, one of the most decorated band programs in HBCU history. 🥁 PROOF VAULT: 26 members to 160 in three years.
