Japanese Dance Online Preview Series (7) - Kuroda Bushi Spear Dance #japanesedance

Course coming soon on ûdemy. Kuroda Bushi is a traditional Japanese song said to have originated in the 1590s in Fukuoka, Japan. I choreographed this as a spear dance using techniques from Sōjutsu (Art of the Spear). Many Japanese dancers have performed Kuroda Bushi with various choreographies, and most of them dance about drinking saké because the lyrics go, "Drink saké. If you drink, you'll win the best spear in all Japan." I excluded the saké drinking element.
