The last streetcar stopped somewhere unfamiliar. New York, November 1947. It's 2:17 AM. The jazz clubs have closed. The streets are wet from the rain, and nearly every window in the city has gone dark. Inside an old streetcar, one tired detective remains seated beside his tenor saxophone. Every other passenger has left. He looks through the rain-covered window, expecting to recognize the streets outside. But this isn't his stop. Warm smoky saxophone, soft vintage piano, deep upright bass and delicate brushed drums create an intimate atmosphere of 1940s vintage noir jazz. No rush. No destination. No familiar streets. Just one lonely passenger, a quiet midnight ride and music that makes the journey feel a little less lonely. Enjoy this vintage jazz session while reading, writing, working quietly or escaping into the nostalgic atmosphere of old New York. Sometimes the wrong stop leads to the right kind of night.
