"Byzantine" Hand Grenades and Greek Fire

A group of ceramic hand grenades from Syro-Palestine (10th - 12th century AD) are examined for clues of what they contained and how they were used. They almost certainly contained a flammable substance, was it the famous so called "Greek Fire" known throughout the Mediterranean?
