Lakefront Trail, Chicago from the roundabout to Pier 31 and back

Summer Sunday morning ride down Lakefront Trail in Chicago in 2026. Many people are out running and biking, and there's even a triathlon going on (you can see the swimmers on the way back). This was my first time doing this ride. I wanted to ride out on one of the piers but there were just way too many people. The entire trail is about 18mi (29km), this ride is about 13 (21km) both ways. If you're thinking of doing this ride, I recommend going EARLY and you can find free parking at the north end by one of the beaches.
