Thorin Oakenshield - Resurrection (Richard Armitage, The Hobbit)

A tribute to Thorin Oakenshield, played by Richard Armitage. Here it is, as a way of celebrating this much desired and long awaited return to our dear Middle Earth. It feels like returning home! (^^)/ It's also dedicated to RA's well wishers. (If you want to know why, read on ;-) I've been a Tolkien fan all my life. And I'm an absolute fan of the masterful way Peter Jackson and his team have recreated his world. When people enter Middle Earth for a PJ trilogy, they are bound to come into my life and stay in my heart forever. I know I will love the cast even before they take the plane to New Zealand! (Some of them don't even need to fly, because they already live there). But this time, a certain gentleman has popped up at Bag End's door and has delivered such an impressive performance that the door to a whole new experience has been opened as well: a whole career has been watched and listened to in just one year (in a truly unexpected journey!), and I'm in awe. I'm glad to say I'm one of those who trusted the choice from the start, but I think this performance has surpassed even our highest expectations. Many of us have just discovered a treasure that seems to have been hidden in plain sight, and are now bowing to those who were able to spot it earlier, especially those dear friends with access to the BBC channels who can now say "I told you!" This video is for them ;-) I have always wanted to make a Middle Earth video to this song. About 10 years ago, someone by the name of Fin had the same idea and made a wonderful one focusing on Gandalf, which I totally loved. Last year, when I watched THAUJ for the first time, the idea came to my mind again, and I just knew it: this would be a Thorin Oakenshield video! It had to be! (And also, my first video using clips instead of stills, so please, forgive the flaws, as I'm technically "challenged"!) I Hope you enjoy it! (^^)/
