1983 Senior Scouts Weekend At Rachan Mill Broughton

This video records a weekend camp for Patrol Leaders and older scouts held at a former village hall located at Rachan Mill, a small hamlet adjacent to the village of Broughton in the Scottish Borders. The hall was owned by the former Area Commissioner Norrie Weir who gave the 9th Scouts exclusive use of the hall and access to the fabulous mill pond which had a small island. As you can imagine this was heaven for scouts and leaders of all ages and a huge debt of gratitude is owed to Norrie and his sons Alastair and Michael, also keen 9th scouts, for its use over many years.
