Morning surprise: a bobcat chilling in our backyard… and Charlie waiting to reclaim his property.

Early this morning, I went to close a window and spotted a bobcat quietly chilling in our backyard. For a while it stayed calm, then slipped behind a green tree where it wasn’t visible anymore. Before letting Charlie run around, I stepped outside to make sure the bobcat had left — but it was actually still hiding behind the tree. When it noticed me, it got startled, jumped up onto our fence, and walked away toward the neighboring houses. A wild, unexpected start to the day.
