Another Side of Thailand: Into the Land of the Serpent / Bueng Kan Tour

Giant stone serpents, enormous whales above the jungle, and a temple that looks as though it was cast from solid gold. In this episode, we’re exploring Bueng Kan in Northeast Thailand - a journey far beyond the usual tourist trail. Join me on my Honda CB500X as we discover this extraordinary corner of Isan, along the Mekong River and the border with Laos. We’ll climb to Tham Naka, also known as Naka Cave (Naga Cave), and visit Three Whale Rocks (Hin Sam Wan), where three enormous rock formations appear to swim through a sea of green forest. We’ll also explore the wooden cliffside walkways of Wat Phu Tok, visit the stunning golden Wat Pa Muang Hueng, and discover a waterfall that became one of my favourite moments of the journey. From sacred places to jungle trails, challenging climbs and spectacular views, this Thailand travel adventure reveals a side of the country that many foreign travellers have never heard of.
