Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou (Arcade | Black Label) - (1 All | Type B-Shotia | Longplay)

Weeks of grinding and I've finally gotten another 1cc I'm super proud of and it's also the game considered the best in the DDP series, Dai-Ou-Jou! I tested all 3 version, original White label, Gray/DDP II and then this one. White is the hardest and bullets are huge, Gray is like a mix of both, big bullets, long hypers but patterns aren't too harsh but it's much harder than Black Label (you can look up the differneces over at shmups wiki cuz I can't list all of them down, my bad!) Black label is much more refined, hypers are easier to obtain, certain bullets are smaller (the cannon in stage 4 that drops the extend is the most noticeable one) and the patterns are just a bit slower.) Most importantly, the smaller hitbox helps a lot especially when you stream and micro dodge. The stage design is great (I'm just horrible with chaining) since it's not as tight like in DDP. The hyper shots are super helpful for quick screen clears and also to boost up your chaining BUT in exchange for this the enemy bullets go faster, gotta tip the scale somehow. The biggest gripe I have with this is that extends are harder to obtain so the game does encourage you to play for score. Ship types, there's only two this time, Type A is a quick forward shot type ship while Type B is a slow and spread shot type ship. The main highlight are the Element dolls that boosts your ships fire power. You have Shotia that boosts shot, Leinyan that boosts lasers and last is (S)Exy who boosts both shot and laser. The bombs are interesting though since depending on who you pick, you have limit to your bombs. Shotia will get a max of 6 bombs after each death (unless you die in hyper), Leinyan is 4 and Exy is max 2. It's a fair trade honestly, especially for Exy since she'd be very much the most broken ship if she had more bombs at her own disposal. Who's ideal here if you're going for just a 1-All? Personally Type-B Shotia, good coverage, laser is weak but your shot is enough to keep you alive honestly, most importantly are the bombs since they really help you a lot, especially the last stage. If you're up for the challenge then I highly recommend Dai-Ou-Jou, great level design, fantastic music and visuals along with it's dark, grim and sad story. I don't want to spoilt too much but look translate what the games title means and you'll see why it's sad once you get to the end. Stage 4/The factory level (or what i assume is a missile silo) is my favorite stage, the music really just compliments the dark and desolate the place is. I just love the dark and hostile industrial theme stage 4 has. The final stage is just...plain awesome as you revisit the very first stage and fight 3 of the previous bosses in DDP before reaching Kouryuu/Jetbachi. If you're really good, you get to see his second phase and the TLB, Hibachi himself. You need very strict stage routing if you want a 1-All (just enough lives to get to the final boss.)
