James Casey (sax, vocals - Trey Anastacio Band) sang his last song, Dear Prudence, on July 23, 2023 at Yale's former tennis stadium with Phil Lesh & Friends. Nearing the end of his two-year fight with colon cancer, James mustered ALL of his strength to sing us one more, and a heartfelt, soulful GEM it was! He rested offstage most of the show. Before the band took the stage, I stood in the James Zone and made my birthday wish to hear James sing Dear Prudence. Pure cosmic magic!
