DJ DB's follow up to the first "History" comp features a solid mix of early Jungle and Drum & Bass tracks. Unlike the first volume there are no Breakbeat / Hardcore tracks present as by 1996 the Hardcore sound had mutated into Jungle and the early Drum & Bass sound. The tracks "Fury (Goldie's Dubplate Remix)" and "Running The Family" by Dead Dread are exclusive to this compilation. Both tracks were only released on dubplate / acetate. Sm:)e (originally to be called Nasa Music) was a sublabel of Profile Records (USA) made specifically for Electronic Music. It started in 1994 and closed its doors in late 1999. Along with Moonshine and Astralwerks, Sm:)e was one of the first major Electronic Music labels in the USA during the 1990's, bringing licensed productions from labels like Moving Shadow to the USA for the first time, and many memorable compilations and mix CDs like this one.
