Join instructor Beth Hankes, AASECT-certified Sex Educator, for an in-depth info session live webinar about this new professional certificate from the University of Vermont: Sex and Intimacy Foundations for Professional Practice Certificate. This information session introduces a new four-week online professional certificate course called 'Sex and Intimacy Foundations for Professional Practice' at the University of Vermont. The course is designed specifically for health practitioners including therapists, counselors, physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and wellness professionals who want to become sex-positive resources for their clients and patients. The course aims to help practitioners support clients in their sexual health and wellness by providing them with foundational knowledge and frameworks to address these topics professionally and compassionately. Beth Hankis, an ASEC certified sex educator and course developer, explains that the program provides evidence-based, research-backed information covering topics like desire, arousal, libido, and the relationship between sex and stress. The course is entirely online and asynchronous, requiring about 7-10 hours per week, and includes lectures, readings, discussions, and practical applications. Students receive a professional certificate upon completion and can earn continuing education credits that count toward ASEC certification.
