The KTM 160 Duke is finally here, designed in India for young riders looking for their first taste of KTM performance. Positioned as an accessible entry point into the Duke family, it brings sharp styling, agile handling, and a lively yet refined engine. Here’s what this all-new Baby Duke has to offer.
Engine
The new 160cc engine finally feels like a KTM, lively, free-revving and surprisingly tractable. It pulls cleanly from as low as 15 km/h in third gear, revs happily to triple digits, and yet remains calm and composed. With claimed efficiency around 40 km/l, it’s a practical starter bike that still offers excitement.
Handling
Weighing 12 kg less than the 200 Duke and using lighter RC-series wheels, the 160 feels sharp, agile, and confidence-inspiring in city traffic. KTM has tuned the suspension to balance sporty handling with comfort on rough roads.
Drawbacks
Vibrations at higher revs are noticeable, and KTM misses a trick by not offering the Bluetooth pack and USB port as standard. The fit and finish also feel a step behind the newer KTM models.
Verdict
The KTM 160 Duke may not have the raw madness of bigger KTMs, but it strikes a fine balance between performance, efficiency, and everyday usability.
