Thinking about moving to Columbia, South Carolina? In this video, we're exploring one of downtown Columbia's most beloved historic neighborhoods, Elmwood Park. Originally developed in the early 1900s on the site of the former South Carolina State Fairgrounds, Elmwood Park became Columbia's first true suburb after being annexed into the city in 1907. Today, it's one of the city's most walkable and architecturally diverse neighborhoods, featuring beautifully preserved Queen Anne, American Foursquare, Craftsman, Colonial Revival, brick bungalows, and even historic shotgun homes. The neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 after decades of preservation efforts by local residents.
