In this video Mike Granato & Shaun Webb from Athletic Motion Golf kick off a new breakdown of the most overlooked part of every phase of the golf swing, starting with address. They cover two setup mistakes they see every single day.
The first is setting your hands too far forward at address to mimic an "impact position." They explain why this bakes in an over-the-top, inside takeaway before you even start the club moving, and show the actual window you want the butt of the club pointing in (about a club head's width, from your belt buckle to your first belt loop).
The second is where your pelvis sits relative to your heels at setup. If your hips are set too far back, your body compensates by moving toward the ball for balance, which creates early extension before the swing even begins. They walk through a simple "fence drill" to find a neutral, balanced setup without an arched lower back.
If you're recording your swing to work on it, check these two things first before anything else.
Let us know in the comments which one you've been doing.
