7 Famous Mallet Putters Slow Swing Golfers Stopped Buying (Only 3 Still Earn It)

Mallet putter for seniors: 7 famous models that don't earn their price in 2026 putting tests, plus the 3 I'd still buy. Using 2026 independent tests from Independent Golf Reviews, National Club Golfer and Today's Golfer, I judge each mallet on what older golfers need: forgiveness (MOI), alignment aids, grip size and stroke behavior. You'll see whether famous mallets like the Sausage Golf Boudin ($519), PXG Bat Attack ZT ($449.99), L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i ($499), L.A.B. Golf DF3i ($499-$599) and Odyssey Square 2 Square ($549.99) hole more six-footers, whether the Scotty Cameron Phantom ($549) justifies its badge, and how the Cleveland HB Soft 2 ($199.99), Wilson Infinite Zero ($199.99) and TaylorMade Spider Tour ($349.99) stack up for far less. Plus: why a $200 putter kept pace with a $500 zero-torque head, and which one scored perfect in a 110-putter test (hint: not the priciest). A: Usually not. In 2026 independent testing, a roughly $200 Wilson holed 7-8 of 10 six-footers while a $500 zero-torque mallet made 7. For older golfers, MOI, alignment and grip size matter more than the badge. Q: Do zero-torque putters really make more putts? A: Not automatically. The $500 putter that started the zero-torque craze holed 7 of 10 six-footers in 2026 testing, while a $200 Wilson made 7-8. The PXG Bat Attack ZT ($449.99) costs more than double that Wilson. Q: What's the best budget mallet putter in 2026? A: The Wilson Infinite Zero and the Cleveland HB Soft 2 both sell for $199.99, and a roughly $200 Wilson held its own against $500 heads in testing. Our top pick, revealed in the video, costs under $400. Q: What should seniors look for in a mallet putter? A: Look for high-MOI forgiveness, alignment lines your eyes can actually use, a head that stays stable through the stroke, and a grip size that quiets the wrists. Swing speed doesn't matter on the green. 🔔 New golf gear verdicts daily — subscribe so the next overpriced brand doesn't get you.    / @honestyardage   ⏱ CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 2:46 #7 SAUSAGE GOLF BOUDIN — overpriced? 3:37 #6 PXG BAT ATTACK ZT — overpriced? 4:31 #5 L.A.B.
