95% Of The Fleas In Your House Are Not On Your Pet

Your flea treatment didn't fail. You killed the 5%. Only about one flea in twenty is the biting adult on your animal. The other 95% is eggs, larvae and cocoons, down in your carpet, in the pet bed, in the couch seams. That is why they come back at day twelve, every single time, no matter what you spent. And the cocoon stage is the part nobody tells you about. It is insecticide-resistant. It can sit dormant in your carpet for up to five months. And when it feels a footstep, the adult can be out of it in seconds. That is why an empty house can come alive with fleas the week somebody moves in. They were not dead. They were waiting. My name is Ray Doyle. I spent forty-one years in residential pest control across south Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas, and fleas were the call where people had already spent the most money before I got there and had the least to show for it. In this video I am going to show you the ten second test with a wet paper towel that tells you if it is even fleas, how to find the five percent of your house where ninety-five percent of them actually live, the tool already in your cupboard that does something no spray can do, and why the treatment that looks like it failed on day twelve was working the whole time. There is one ingredient that ends a flea problem, and most of the cheap sprays leave it out. It is called an insect growth regulator, and it does not kill an adult flea at all. It stops the eggs and larvae from ever becoming adults. It breaks the cycle instead of mowing the top off it. Nobody sells you that, because what feels like it is working is watching things die in front of you. And here is the one that surprises people most. Vacuuming does not just remove fleas. It stimulates them to come out of those insecticide-resistant cocoons early. You are tricking the one stage you cannot kill into becoming the one stage you can, using a machine you already own. Tonight, sit your animal on a white towel and comb hard at the base of the tail, against the hair. If black specks come off, press them onto a damp piece of white kitchen paper.
