The Start of Three-Month Rains Retreat at Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in 2026 We warmly invite everyone to join us online as Huong Dao Buddhist Temple enters the sacred Three-Month Rains Retreat (Vassa). Dating back to the time of the Buddha, Vassa is a season of deep spiritual reflection, intensive meditation, and study for the monastic community. During these three months, monastics remain in one residence to focus on their practice. Lay devotees mark the beginning of this sacred period by offering Rains Robes (Vassāvāsika)—a gesture of deep respect and generosity that supports the Sangha with essential requisites so they may dedicate themselves fully to the Dhamma.
