How to Pack Gear Inside a Packraft | Packrafting Essentials Ep. 3

Learn how to pack gear inside a packraft using a TiZip-accessed internal storage system. This beginner’s guide covers balancing your load, positioning equipment and keeping the things you need during the day within reach. Welcome to Episode 3 of Vildmark’s Packrafting Essentials—a series of practical lessons to help you get to know your packraft and organise your equipment. Internal storage lets you carry equipment inside your packraft’s tubes. In this video, I discuss systems including Alpacka’s Cargo Fly, the MRS Internal Storage System and the separate internal storage bags found on some Anfibio models. We look at: • Distributing weight to keep your packraft balanced. • Positioning gear carefully around critical areas. • Choosing what to store inside the tubes. • Keeping daytime essentials accessible outside the internal storage. Think ahead when packing. Accessing gear through a zip that opens into the air chamber means releasing the packraft’s pressure, so keep anything you’ll need on the water within reach. TIZIP CARE Keep your zip clean and follow the care instructions for your particular zipper and packraft. Storage and lubrication requirements can vary between zipper models.
