Everyone already knows about the weird ass nonsense-speed bass strumming at 2:04. Really can't help but admire their complete disregard for using any normal grid snap or rounding to help with authoring that. We're looking at 85 notes over a four-measure cycle, so roughly what, 21-and-a-quarter-th notes? Dude, that's not even a thing. We aren't even considering the fact that there's a visible gap after the last orange and lone yellow note at the end of each cycle, which undoubtedly screws with the timing a little more. Don't even look at the clear but subtle slowdown during the greens. It's truly baffling the lengths they went to in order to make such an unorthodox chart. So the glaring question is -- and I think this is especially damning for a RB3 disc song -- why did Harmonix not just use lanes there? Here's the thing: they actually did... just only on pro bass. Exactly like with that one weird bit in "In the Meantime," the strum lanes are only on the pro bass chart. I don't really know why, but it does make me wonder if maybe they had charted standard before lanes were implemented, or maybe this was originally going to be a RB2-era DLC song, or maybe they just forgot. It's impossible to say for sure, of course, but it's pretty funny. For how strange the charting is and how infamous of a reputation that bridge strumming holds, I don't actually think the FC is all that difficult, though. I know this goes against the entire diatribe in my first paragraph, but somehow, the speed actually feels very natural when playing the song. I have no idea how they managed that. Every orange streak ends on a downstrum, and if you just downstrum again for the first blue at the little pause each time, it just kind of works, making the section practically unmissable in execution. Still, big points for the charting quirk. We both know that makes all the difference, at least on this channel. Oh yeah, and the song is fantastic.
