How far can type inference go?

Most languages these days have type inference, but some take it further than others. Languages like Odin get it almost perfect, while languages like Typescript and OCaml take it way too far. Overly powerful, omniscient type inference systems only serve to slow down compilation and cause confusing bugs, forcing users to rely on fallible documentation and best guesses, under the guise of saving time and being convenient.
