Stormy Weather 27:46 - Conclusion Note: The original variation titles seems to be in Russian and German (which Medtner did spoke). For the english titles, I based most of them from the 1926 edition of the score and Barrie Martyn's biography of Medtner, then changed (in my opinion) dubiously translated ones. For example, the original Russian title of variation IX is simply titled "Леший" (Leshy) which is a deity of the forest in slavic mythology, while the German title is "Waldgeister" which literally translates to "Forest spirit". The 1926 score has the english title of "The Sylvan" and Martyn has it as "Wood Goblin" ... what a confusing array of things xD. I went with "The Forest Spirit" since I deem it quite all-encompassing and Leshy in my opinion doesn't really fit the description of a goblin... I also added "(Cortège)" to the title of variation XII, which Medtner apparently added to a printed copy of this piece according to Martyn. Slides: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6p9g2p...
