How much can you really see and do with only 48 hours in New York City? We put it to the test. We utilised the Go City New York City Explorer Pass whilst down route to ensure we could see everything we wanted to - from a broadway show (Back To The Future) to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. We didn't stop during our time in New York and we got to see some fantastic view points such as The Edge and Top of The Rock. We tried the best hot chocolate we have ever had at Max Brenner in Bryant Park and had some more tasty treats along the way. It wasn't all sunshines and rainbows as we had a pretty scary Subway journey on our first evening, the first time we had been on the New York Subway together and we saw people jumping over barriers and a man threatened to 'jab everyone with a rusty needle' on the carriage we were on. There are some serious issues with policing and mental health that were very apparent on the New York Subway so just be careful if you do go to New York. That being said it is a big city and I'm sure if I got on the tube at the wrong stop in London at some point I'd have an interesting experience too but if you asked me where I'd feel safer, I'd definitely say the tube aka London Underground. What else did we get up to in New York? Well, we had some of the best pizza we had ever had at Joe's Pizza (known from Spiderman) and we also tried Bleecker Street Pizza too! We had our very first Margarita EVER at Bandits Diner in Greenwich Village, shout out to the gentlemen who served us, he was lovely! We also took ourselves on a little mini F.R.I.E.N.D.S tour, being the massive fans that we are! We saw the F.R.I.E.N.D.S building, Washington Square Arch and Central Park. Our trip may have been short but we tried to fit everything in we could and felt like we saw so much of New York. We couldn't have done it without the Go City Explorer Pass - it made everything so easy for us, including access to the Hop-On Hop-Off Uptown and Downtown Bus Tour. This was a fantastic way to take in the sights and just generally, get around New York, without having to sit underground and miss all the sights! I highly recommend you grab a pass if you go to NYC.
