You don’t have to earn God’s grace, and you can’t work hard enough to put God in your debt. Have you ever wondered if you’ve done enough for God? Or looked at someone else’s life and thought, “Why did they get that when I’ve been so faithful?” Comparison can turn blessings into disappointments and obedience into a scorecard. But Jesus offers a different way to understand our relationship with God: His goodness comes before our performance, and grace is a gift, not something we earn. ABOUT THIS MESSAGE In Matthew 19–20, Jesus responds to questions about sacrifice, reward, and who deserves what by telling the parable of the workers in the vineyard. This message explores why comparison makes God’s generosity feel unfair, how keeping score can distort our view of grace, and why our faithfulness is a response to God’s goodness rather than leverage against Him. Ultimately, Jesus points us toward the cross and a King who came not to be served, but to serve and give His life for us. ABOUT CAPITAL WEST Wherever you are in life, you’re welcome here.
