We first visited Montreal back in the 90s when Kevin sang here with his barbershop chorus The Masters of Harmony    / @mastersofharmony4177   The GPS My City App has been one of our favorites and we would have visited more of the sites suggested if not for the horrific weather and the constant construction. The Basilica was a highlight as it was just so breathtakingly gorgeous. Old Town Montreal is a historic place in and of itself. Founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or "The City of Mary", it is named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill around which the early city of Ville-Marie is built. The city is centered on the Island of Montreal, which obtained its name from the same origin as the city, and a few much smaller peripheral islands, the largest of which is Île Bizard. We walked approximately 3 KM and although the rain dampened our day, we still had a wonderful time. Quite honestly the Poutine and Crepes we worth the drive LOL
