Welcome back to Five Colors of Travel! In today's video, we are in the holy town of Vrindavan to bring you an exclusive guide to Fogla Ashram. If you are looking for a peaceful, clean, and incredibly budget-friendly place to stay and eat in Vrindavan, especially with the festival of Janmashtami just around the corner, this spot is a must-visit!
Join us as we take you from the famous ISKCON Temple to the serene corridors of Fogla Ashram to try their legendary, unlimited 100% Satvik meal cooked entirely without onion and garlic.
Location & How to Reach
Starting Point: Our journey begins right after seeking blessings at the world-famous ISKCON Temple.
Transit Hack: Fogla Ashram is located on the same road as the ISKCON Temple. You can easily walk there, or if you prefer a ride, you can catch an auto or e-rickshaw for just ₹20 per passenger. If you are travelling in a larger group, you can negotiate and get the fare reduced a bit.
The Unlimited Satvik Thali Experience
Price: Just ₹100 for an unlimited plate!
Traditional Vibe: You will dine in a serene hall where you sit comfortably on the floor. Your food plate is kept on a small, traditional wooden stool called a patli. If you cannot sit on the floor, they also have a dedicated section with chairs and tables.
Strict Rules to Know
1. No Sharing: Because the thali is strictly unlimited, sharing your plate is not allowed. Each person must purchase their own token.
2. Child Policy: Children above 5 years of age require a separate token. Younger kids can eat with their parents.
What's on the Plate?
Thick UP-Style Aloo-Tamatar Sabzi, the star of the thali with authentic Uttar Pradesh home-cooked flavors
Sweet Sitafal Pumpkin Sabzi
Thin Yellow Dal and Fluffy Rice
Fresh Rotis served warm and fresh
Plain Dahi Raita, thick and slightly sour
Crispy Papad and Salad with sliced cucumber and lemon
Festive Special: During Janmashtami, you can expect special additions like sweet halwa served as prasad.
Bhojanalaya Dining Hall Timings
Breakfast: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Lunch: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Dinner: 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM
