Which State Sounds Worst?

Colorado and Wyoming are different states. Played as sound, they're indistinguishable; the same waveform, the same 50.4 semitones, because both are basically rectangles. All 50 states, as sound. Every border is traced by a moving pen, and the height of the pen becomes the pitch; so the shape IS the sound. No narration, just geography you can hear. Here's the thing I didn't expect: about half of America is a rectangle. Twenty-four of these borders are essentially polygons, because they were drawn by surveyors with a ruler instead of by the sea. You can hear it immediately; the western states barely move, and then Maryland arrives and the pen loses its mind (it has the most convoluted border in the lower 48). Alaska is the finale, and it's the best thing my setup has ever had to draw: 38 separate pieces, so the pen lifts 38 times and the waveform shreds into bursts. Hawaii does the same on a smaller scale. The gap you hear between islands is real silence — the pen isn't touching anything. The order isn't alphabetical. I ranked all 50 by how much sound is actually in the border, then spaced the interesting ones out so it never flatlines. The rectangles are grouped on purpose.
