Flying to North Macedonia 🇲🇰 | Almost Denied Boarding at Lyon Airport, FRANCE

My journey started early morning in Marrakech where I took a local bus to the airport for just 4 MAD, while taxis were asking 200 MAD for the same ride! I flew with Volotea Airlines for the first time and surprisingly got a discounted ticket, extra baggage allowance, priority boarding and even a birthday credit through their membership trial. But the real drama happened at Lyon Airport, where I was almost denied boarding to North Macedonia because I didn’t have a return ticket. I explained that I was planning to cross the land border from Skopje to Kosovo by bus, but the airline staff insisted due to a recent incident with another traveler. Eventually they allowed me to board after I booked an onward bus ticket. After landing in Skopje, I discovered one of the worst airport currency exchange rates I’ve ever seen — almost 19% difference! Since the airport bus to the city starts only in the morning, I spent the night at the airport and later took a 199 Macedonian Denar bus to the city center.
