The Sun just exploded, and for 8 minutes and 20 seconds you have no idea. The sky stays blue. Then the light arrives, billions of times brighter than the Sun you know, and the oceans on the day side begin to boil.
We follow the impossible second by second: the last normal minutes, the one tiny warning we would get, the flash, the blast wave and what would be left of the Earth. Then the twist: our Sun can never explode like this. But it will still end life on Earth, much sooner than you think, and one frozen moon may get a second chance.
If you knew the light was coming in eight minutes, how would you spend them? Tell us in the comments.
