Day 1 Vlog – Birthday Surprise in Punta Cana ❤️ Our Day 1 in beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic just started, and this trip is extra special because it’s a birthday surprise for her. We landed around 4:15 PM and after a smooth immigration process, we reached our hotel Hotel Riu Republica by 5:30 PM. Immigration Tip: If you’re flying from Canada, the immigration process is very straightforward. You just need a valid passport along with either a Canadian TRV or Permanent Residency. And of course, if you’re a Canadian citizen, it’s even easier. Important before you fly: You must fill out the Dominican Republic E-Ticket online form before departure. It only takes a few minutes and is completely free. 👉 Fill the official Dominican Republic E‑Ticket Form This generates a QR code that you may need to show during immigration.  Hotel Experience: Hotel Riu Republica is massive and highly recommended. It’s an adults-only resort with tons of events, beach activities, and parties happening every day, so if you’re coming to Punta Cana for fun and vibes, this place is perfect. Transportation Tip: RIU actually provides airport taxi transfers, but you should call and arrange it at least 3 days before arrival. Taking taxis directly from the airport can sometimes be tricky, and tourists may occasionally get overcharged. Money Tip: Avoid buying anything at the airport and don’t exchange currency there. In most places around Punta Cana, USD is widely accepted and often better than the local Dominican peso, so it’s best to carry USD cash. Day 1 was short since we arrived in the evening, but the real fun is just getting started.
