Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has taken aim at Sir Keir Starmer for failing to follow "due process" over Lord Peter Mandelson's vetting for US ambassador. She accused Labour MPs of “acting like sheep”, as she opened a debate on whether the Privileges Committee should consider if the Prime Minister misled the House over the appointment of Lord Peter Mandelson. It comes after the PM's ex chief of staff Morgan McSweeney also blamed Brexit for giving the disgraced Labour grandee the UK's top diplomatic role. MPs will vote in the Commons over whether there should be a parliamentary sleaze probe into claims Sir Keir lied to MPs.
