As Angola’s oil and gas sector enters a new phase of growth and development, Sonangol is taking on an increasingly operational role. At the Angola Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition (AOG) 2026, Sonangol Board Member Osvaldo Inacio delivered his keynote speech, highlighting the company’s expanding role across Angola’s energy sector and its growing focus on gas, petrochemicals and other industrial activities. Inacio highlighted Sonangol’s presence across 42 oil concessions, with the company operating 11, while outlining the scale of its recent investment. Sonangol invested $10.5 billion between 2021 and 2025, while its portfolio grew from $995 million in 2022 to $3.4 billion in 2025. He also highlighted the company’s growth in production and exploration, including a 200,000 bpd increase in net volumes and the processing of 50,000 km² of 3D seismic.
