Delhi Fire News: Massive Blaze Guts Shops in Karol Bagh’s Gaffar Market on Dhanteras Morning | News9

A devastating fire broke out in the early hours of Dhanteras inside Karol Bagh’s famous Gaffar Market in Central Delhi, gutting commercial establishments and destroying high-value festive stock. The blaze was reported around 1:30 AM at Puri Plaza, located in the tightly packed Chain Wali Gali of the market's 13th Block. With flames spreading quickly through the multi-storey complex, the Delhi Fire Service mobilized 22 fire tenders along with heavy-duty water bowsers and mobile lighting towers to battle the fire in the dark. Narrow lanes and congested commercial clusters presented significant tactical hurdles for emergency teams working through thick plumes of toxic black smoke. Firefighters forced open metal shutters and sprayed high-pressure water streams to prevent the flames from leaping to adjacent stores. The disaster deals a severe financial blow to local electronics and retail traders on the most lucrative shopping weekend of the year ahead of Diwali. Authorities and police teams remain on site conducting cooling operations, with a formal investigation underway to determine the cause of the fire. #delhifire #karolbagh #gaffarmarketdelhi #delhinews #dhanteras #breakingnews #delhifireservice #news9live ..............................................................................................
