Homemade TOPLESS CRAB TRAP on the ST LUCIE river. Catching 2 or 3 at a time!!! CRABBING in FLORIDA

I took 5 of my homemade topless crab traps on the St Lucie River on an early season run. I guess it was around March or April of 2022. I baited them each with a chicken leg and went to work! The crabs were small but I was catching lots of them, typically 2 and 3 at a time!!! It was some good action but didn't really produce the large crabs needed for a dinner. I might have kept a dozen of the big ones but most were tiny and ended up being released. In my opinion, the topless traps are more fun than the regular crab pots but it's a little more work. And it doesn't always produce results... I've been out a couple of times and didn't catch any. It's a little strange in that way.
