This brand-new retro action-adventure just dropped today (September 4, 2026) and it looks like pure classic Zelda vibes mixed with some fresh ideas. We’re jumping into this Zelda-like as Lief the owl on a pilgrimage to the mysterious Isle of Reveries, exploring a big overworld, diving into themed dungeons, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies—exactly the kind of adventure I’ve been craving. Similarities to classic Zelda games (especially Link’s Awakening / Game Boy Color era): Top-down exploration of a non-hand-holding overworld, multiple unique dungeons packed with clever puzzles and key items that stay useful for both combat and problem-solving, a fairy companion by your side, charming characters to meet, that perfect sense of discovery, and tight dungeon design that feels like a love letter to the classics. What makes it different: You’re an owl instead of a Hylian hero, your fairy can copy and spawn objects from the world (blocks, torches, mushrooms, and more) for creative puzzle-solving and combat, there’s a town-building/community aspect where rescued characters settle in and open up new quests, and it includes some co-op stages you can play with a friend. It keeps the soul of old-school Zelda while adding its own mechanical twists.
